What Is Composting And What Can It Do?
If you have a garden, you might be asking yourself “What is composting?” It’s basically a recycling method that lets us preserve the planet while gaining benefits ourselves. Compost is an organic compound that fertilizes soil and generally comes in two types – green if it’s high in nitrogen and protein, and brown if it contains carbon or carbohydrates.

It’s easy to do and it’s full of natural materials that can be used instead to help enhance soils, and in place of harmful chemical additives.
Composting might seem like a messy task involving a lot of work, but there are multiple reasons to do it. First, you don’t need to buy anything. All the necessary materials are simply things that would wind up in a landfill otherwise. It can also be used to help with water retention and, if you’re a farmer, it can be useful to hold off pests and the diseases they might spread to your plants. It even helps reduce the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.
By now you should know what is composting and see that compost is worth the work involved – which might not be as much as you think. It is even more organically focused than other methods of recycling, and will make the world a better place today and for many years to come.
